Seasonal care: adjusting your routine through the year

Why the same routine can feel different in January and July, and simple ways to adapt as the seasons change.

Humidity, temperature and sunlight change throughout the year, and skin often responds in kind. A routine that feels perfect in one season can feel too heavy, or not quite enough, in another.

Warmer months

Many people prefer lighter textures when it is warm and humid. Sun protection becomes especially important with longer days and more time outdoors — reapplying through the day is a helpful habit.

Cooler months

Cold air outside and heating indoors can leave skin feeling drier. Richer moisturizers, lukewarm rather than hot water, and fewer exfoliating steps may feel more comfortable.

Travelling between climates

If you travel often, consider a small, flexible kit: a gentle cleanser, a moisturizer you can layer, and sun protection. Give your skin a few days to adjust before introducing anything new.
